Police are treating the sudden death of a baby at a West Auckland home this afternoon as unexplained.
A police spokesperson said inquiries were under way into the infant’s death at a Massey property.
“Earlier this afternoon, emergency services were called to an address in the area following a report of a non-responsive infant.
”Tragically, the baby was unable to be revived.“
The spokesperson said the baby’s death was being treated as unexplained while further inquiries are carried out.
A further update would be provided when police were in a position to do so.
