Plunket is launching a new strategy to get more Asian parents using its service.
The number of Asian newborn babies enrolled with Plunket nearly doubled between 2006 and 2012, and now the organisation is launching a plan to determine how it could better meet Asian families' needs.

Generations of New Zealanders have taken advantage of Plunket's free services for the parents of under 5s.
But Asian Peoples advisor Vivian Cheung said using Plunket hasn't become a tradition in Asian communities.
She said many Asian parents aren't Plunket babies, and their parents and grandparents also aren't Plunket babies.
Ms Cheung said the strategy has a focus on building stronger relationships with Asian community groups, and ensuring Asian families know about and use Plunket's services.
Plunket will also provide more training to frontline staff and will introduce parenting resources in Asian languages.
