A person has been critically injured in an incident at a Christchurch park this morning. 

Police were called to a playground and reserve area at the corner of Stanmore Rd and London St at 9.10am.

A spokesperson confirmed officers were “responding to an incident” but could not give further details. 

St John confirmed it was notified of the incident just after 9am.

An ambulance and rapid response vehicle were deployed. 

“One patient was assessed at the scene and transported to Christchurch Hospital in a critical condition,” said a spokesperson.
