The movement began in Mangere and has wrapped up in Parnell with Aucklanders bundling up in their cars just a few minutes from Prime Minister John Key's house.
The last Auckland Park Up for Homes took place in Parnell's Shore Road Reserve overnight, with 40 families and locals braving the rain to raise awareness about homelessness.
Child Poverty Action Group's Alan Johnson said the overall support's been overwhelming - with about 2000 people turning up to community sleep outs since the first Mangere event in June.
"Never anticipated that we would have the level of support we did have for the campaign and the first events that we've had. Or that there would be so much interest in local people running events by themselves, or for themselves, so we've been encouraged by the level of interest."
Mr Johnson said the Park Up campaign is coming to an end, as winter draws to a close, but they'll continue to put the pressure on the Government to address housing issues in other ways.
"Summer's going to come along and we may forget about the fact that people are living in cars, but come next winter it's just going to be as serious again. As an issue, it may wane over the next few months because there will be other things that may grab the media and the public's attention but we think this issue is not going away."
There's still one more Park Up event - in Palmerston North on September 2nd.
