The rogue seal taking New Zealand by storm remains asleep in a Papakura car wash.
Police have one unit at the scene keeping an eye on the sub-adult male fur seal and the Department of Conservation is on the way.
The Fire Service is also at the scene.
There has been speculation that the bitter chill over Auckland last night forced the seal to seek shelter.
However, seals have the ability to regulate their body temperature. They have a thick layer of blubber to keep their internal organs insulated and grow new skin each year to prevent damaged layers losing heat which can result in hypothermia.
The Papakura seal's antics have drawn support from its twitter followers.
A person running a twitter page under the name Papakura Seal has been following seal's movements and updating its 269 followers with his where abouts.
The Papakura Seal posted this morning, "You didn't think I was fin-nished just yet, did you?" after his appearance in a Papakura car wash was reported by media.
One follower responded by saying, "@papakuraseal omg you are my favorite. don't ever change [sic]".
