UPDATED 12.05pm The Canterbury District Health Board's revealed the nature of some of the 28 injuries seen in two months from indoor trampoline parks in Christchurch.
Two centres have opened in the city since August -Â Mega Air in Hornby and Flip Out in Bromley.
Worksafe's making enquiries to decide whether they'll investigate after the DHB alerted them to the sudden trend.
Emergency Department Director Dr Scott Pearson says they've seen two people with broken necks who will require several months of rehabilitation.
Other injuries range from fractures and lacerations to a serious spinal injury.Â
Senior New Zealand trampolining coach Nigel Humphreys will be meeting with the owners of Mega Air this afternoon, to help them improve their standards of safety.
Mr Humphreys, a 44-year veteran of the sport and owner of ICE Trampoline Sports in Rangiora said he has a number of fears about how safe the centres are.
Considerable thought needs to be given to the layout and staff training must be up to scratch, he said.
