Australian and New Zealand navy ships have seized drugs worth over $700 million in the Middle East.
The HMAS Newcastle netted 724 kilograms of narcotics worth an estimated $597 million.
The operation has been led by the United States in the Western Indian Ocean since May.
During the operation, HMNZS Te Kaha seized some 260 kilograms of heroin bound for East Africa.
Commodore John Campbell says the haul is worth about $235 million.
He says much of it would've been sold in Europe.
"So as well as keeping these illegal drugs off the streets, this interception has also assisted in the halt of flow of funds to global terrorism organisations."
