The Minister for Agriculture and Biosecurity is confident this week's Fieldays event at Mystery Creek in Hamilton will not be overshadowed by Mycoplasma bovis.
The popular agriculture event kicks off today.
Nearly 25,000 cattle have been culled so far in a drive to eliminate the cattle disease with eight more farms due to have their stock wiped.
The Ministry for Primary Industries will be reinforcing key messages on Mycoplasma bovis to farmers at the event, and Minister Damien O'Connor says it will provide farmers further opportunity to have their questions answered.
"Farmers who have been at the meetings wanting to know more about Mycoplasma bovis have basically endorsed our programme of eradication. I think they'll be there looking for more information and MPI will be able to provide as much information as possible."
"We are advising all farmers to have better biosecurity systems in place to make sure they adhere to the system and track and trace their animals. We are advising all farmers to have better biosecurity systems in place to make sure they adhere to the system and track and trace their animals."
Last year's Field Days event attracted more than 130,000 visitors over the three days.
