Auckland Emergency Management is warning of a new lashing of bad weather expected for Auckland on Monday.
The weather is looking like it will be stable today, but more poor weather is likely by the morning.
Auckland Emergency Management spokesperson Craig Glover, says there is a front expected to move across Auckland that could bring gale force winds and some heavy rain on Monday.
He says people should secure loose outdoor items and check in on neighbours to see if they need any assistance today.
Auckland Council contractors will visit properties with portaloos today to make sure they are secured for the upcoming weather.
Auckland Emergency Management have teams working around the city today, making the most of the brief relief from the bad weather.
Community hubs are open around Auckland for residents wanting to talk to Work and Income representatives for urgent housing and financial support.
Meanwhile, Police and Land Search and Rescue, the Defence Force and the Red Cross will continue to visit households in affected areas.
Acting Auckland Emergency Management Director Craig Glover says the focus for today is to determine which properties won't have power for the next few days.
He says in some areas it could take up to a week to restore power.
