A body has been found in the search for missing Dunedin man Fabian Dobson.

The Christchurch man whose body was found on the banks of the Waimakariri River has been identified as father-of-one Brad Lomax.

He was a member of the Rebels Motorcycle Club.

The 24-year-old's body was found around 10pm on Monday, with a post-mortem being conducted today.

Detective Inspector Greg Murton says the death was clearly a homicide, but he will not comment on injuries or whether a weapon was involved
