A man will appear in court after allegedly shooting a firearm outside an Auckland hospital.
The incident occurred on January 4, when a gun was allegedly fired from a vehicle in Middlemore Hospital’s car park. No one was injured.
Over the weekend police carried out a search warrant and arrested a suspect.
A 34-year-old man will appear in the Manukau District Court today facing serious charges, including committing a dangerous act with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and commission of an offence with a firearm.
Police are continuing to investigate and can’t rule out more arrests.
“Those allegedly involved showed no regard for the safety of those around them, given this occurred at a hospital.
”We have no tolerance and will continue to hold those to account who take part in this behaviour,” Detective Inspector Shaun Vickers said.
