A man will appear in court this morning facing multiple charges after an almost five-hour standoff with armed police at an Auckland property.
The man was “sought by police” and was located at a house on Mulroy Place in Pinehill about 4pm yesterday.
“Police attempted to engage with the person, but they refused to co-operate,” a police spokesperson said today.
“After prolonged efforts to engage with the person police including the Armed Offenders Squad entered the residence and at 9.30pm the person was taken into custody.

“The 32-year-old man is due to appear in North Shore District Court facing charges including assault and escaping police custody.”
Photos provided to the Herald show uniformed and armed police outside the house during the standoff.
A Pinehill resident said there were at least eight police cars in the street during the incident, along with two ambulances and a fire truck.
