A large grass fire in suburban Auckland this afternoon is now out, a Fire and Emergency spokesman says.
Two dozen firefighters were earlier battling the out-of-control fire at Maungarei/Mt WellingtonDomain after being alerted to the blaze in the suburb of Mt Wellington at 12.39pm.
A helicopter was also called but arrived as the 60sq m fire was put out, said Fire and Emergency NZ (Fenz) shift manager Josh Pennefather.
The helicopter was still at the scene just before 2.30pm.
No properties or people were affected by the fire.

Firefighters remained at the scene dampening hotspots.
They initially sent six fire trucks with a total of around two dozen firefighters, Pennefather said.
