A large house fire has broken out in South Auckland this afternoon.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said crews are at a Māngere East structure fire.
FENZ say they were alerted to the “well-involved” fire just after 1pm.
Fire crews have now brought the fire on Gray Avenue under control.
Five trucks have come from Māngere, Ōtara, Manurewa and Ōtāhuhu.
A police spokesperson said they are assisting with traffic management and have closed the road at the intersection of Gray Avenue and Ōrākau Road.
Middlemore Hospital confirmed they saw visible smoke drift outside the hospital.
Hato Hone St John assistance was not required.
