Police have named the teenager killed in Palmerston North in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He was Jarryn Lawton.

The 18-year-old died after he was struck be a vehicle while walking on Napier Road.

Manawatu police are continuing to speak to witnesses, including the driver of the vehicle, to piece together the sequence of events prior to the collision.

The Serious Crash Unit is also investigating.
