The Insurance and Savings Ombudsman has been kept busy over the last year.
The ombudsman has resolved the largest number of complaints since 1998.
More than 3200 complaint enquiries and 300 complaint investigations have been carried out.
Insurance and Savings Ombudsman Karen Stevens says most complaints to her office still relate to insurance.
A large amount of work she carried out was related to the Canterbury earthquakes, with over one thousand 450 earthquake-related complaint enquiries and 120 complaints investigated since the shakes.
