The security industry is under the spotlight at a Coroner's inquest into the death of a young guard who was fatally attacked on his first night on the job.

Michael Rutherford heads up the country's biggest security firm, FIRST Security, and has given evidence at the inquest into Charanpreet Dhaliwal's death.

He says in his 40 years in the industry, it's never been so dangerous as it is right now.

Rutherford is calling for minimum training standards for the entire security industry.
