The search for an internationally wanted Australian woman has arrived in New Zealand.

Harry Speath is arriving in Christchurch this at 2.30 this afternoon in search of his two children and their mother, after it was believed she abducted them two and a half years ago.

Thomas Speath and Serena Speath disappeared with their mother, Jane Adare, on December 5, 2014.

Mr Speath's searched the UK and Brazil, and is now turning his eyes here after Australian police saw how easily Alan Langdon sailed the Tasman with his daughter earlier this year.

"They [Australian police] are much more conscious to the fact that it is easy to transit between their country and New Zealand and the mother does have connections there," Australian child recovery specialist Col Chapman said.

He said the mother's known to Interpol.

"There's border alerts so the mother and children can't leave the country. There's a current arrest warrant and it's also listed with [New Zealand] crimestoppers."
