The Government's being urged to do more to ensure New Zealanders 'die well'.

With the country's ageing population growing rapidly, those in palliative care say they are stretched to provide quality resources.

New Zealand Aged Care Association chief executive Simon Wallace said one third of New Zealanders are now dying in palliative care.

He said residents entering care homes are entering at a much older age, and there's a higher level of frailty in patients.
