Assurances from Dunedin City Council - there won't be dozens of Black Power members running around the city cutting grass.
LISTEN: Denis O’Reilly, Community advocate and life time Black Power member, joins Larry Williams to discuss contracts to maintain Dunedin’s public land.
This comes are after one of the gang's top Dunedin members picked up a contract to maintain a number of public spaces around the city.
Albert Epere has already been working for the council's Taskforce Green for the past year.
But he's now picked up a solo contract, worth a touch over $50,000.
Council spokesperson Rebecca Williams said at this stage Mr Epere will be the only gang member working on the council's parks.
"To do work for us you need to be an approved contractor so at this stage only our bit has got that approval. Any change would need to go through that rigorous process as well."
