The head of one of the country's political dynasties Bob Tizard has died in Auckland at the age of 91.
Mr Tizard became the deputy Prime Minister following the death in the early 70s of Norman Kirk.
He was an MP for 30 years.
Mr Tizard was married to former Governor General Kath Tizard and they divorced in 1980.
His daughter Judith Tizard was a Minister in the Clark Government.
