Doctors around the country have said emergency departments will soon reach breaking point if the number of people presenting continues to grow at its current rate.
The Minister of Health believes district health boards need to work closely with doctors to ensure their emergency departments are equipped to cope with an increase in patients.
Dr Jonathon Coleman said there's already a lot of money going into the health system, and it's up to management to invest it where it's needed.
"There's different things that can be done to manage demand but its very important that management and the boards understand the concerns of doctors and nurses."
