Eliza McCartney has just set a New Zealand and Oceania record in the women's pole vault at the Auckland Track Challenge on the North Shore.
Cruising through 4.40m, 4.55m and 4.70m, the 20-year-old Olympic bronze- medallist cleared 4.82m on the second time of asking in the Auckland Track Challenge.
The vault beats her previous personal best, equalled in Rio last year, of 4.80m.
Earlier, Olympic champion Ryan Crouser won the men's shot put with a series of world class throws.
Crouser threw a best of 22.15m, one of the four times he cleared 22m.
Olympic bronze medallist Tom Walsh has finished second with a best of 21.80m, which is a New Zealand residents record.
