Environment Canterbury's investigation of Lake Taylor has so far found little contamination from the cattle caught wading in it.
A compliance manager met with the manager of Lakes Station yesterday, after photos and complaints arose about the cows using the popular public lake.
The cows are owned by Chief Justice Dame Sian Elias and her husband Hugh Fletcher.
A neighbour's spoken out against them, saying he's been complaining about the cattle polluting local water ways for 15 years.
A scene examination has revealed a few cow pats on the shoreline but nothing visible in the water on the lake bed.
The investigation should be complete next week.
