Dunedin's pulling out all the stops today as the city celebrates its Super Rugby champions.
Thousands of excited Dunedin fans turned out yesterday to welcome home the victorious Highlanders after beating the Hurricanes on Saturday night. And today, Dunedin City Council has organised a parade to congratulate the team on their win.
Community Events co-ordinator Marilyn Anderson said the city has been on a massive high since the win.
"It was just amazing, we haven't seen energy like that in Dunedin for quite a while."
She said that she expects thousands of people to take part in the parade, which will travel down George Street to the Octagon around midday.
