Dunedin wants a piece of the World Cup action.
The city's putting its hand up to also host a welcome home parade for the All Blacks.
Dunedin Mayor Dave Cull said the Dunedin City Council is "in contact" with New Zealand Rugby Union officials but whether one can be staged depends on the union and the availability of players.
NZU general manager of rugby, Neil Sorensen, said welcome home plans will be announced later today.
The players arrive in Auckland on Wednesday.
It's believed parades have been pencilled in for Auckland on Wednesday, Christchurch on Thursday and Wellington on Friday.
Dunedin was overlooked for an official parade in 2011 .
Instead, it was one of the 41 cities and towns the cup was taken to the following year.
