A small dog learnt a big lesson in water safety this afternoon.
The small dog tempted fate by chasing seal pups out into the water, only to find itself in over its head in the Manukau Harbour.
The local coastguard and distraught owner found a helpful jetskier to rescue the dog from the harbour, resulting in a happy reunion of man and dog just 25 minutes later.
