UPDATED 5:43pm: A man has died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car being driven by his partner in the driveway of a rural property.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Mangatawhiri, south of Auckland, just after 2PM.

They found the motorcyclist trapped underneath the car with serious head injuries.

He died at the scene shortly afterwards.

The Police serious crash unit is investigating.
