Auckland ratepayers could be in for a shock, when they learn the cost of fixing up the Council's plush HQ.Â
The cost of fixing up cladding on the building in the city has blown out from $4 million to an estimated $31m.
The building has already cost the city more than $128m to buy and fit out.
The idea of moving into the tower on Albert Street was originally floated as a way to save money.
