Tourism groups around New Zealand continue to sing the praise for Conservation Minster Eugenie Sage's Great Walks announcement.

International tourists will be charged more than locals, to use four of the nine Great Walks in New Zealand, including the famous Kepler and Milford tracks.

Tourism Industry Aotearoa Chief Executive Chris Roberts says they have been calling on this for a while now.

He says these walks are very high quality and cheap in comparison to similar experiences in other countries.

"They'll still sell out at these higher prices, and those who don't want to pay these prices can enough some of the other walks around New Zealand, there is plenty of other opportunities to take."
