A Christchurch MP is holding two drop-in sessions to help residents struggling to get their insurance or EQC claims settled.
Christchurch Central MP Dr Duncan Webb says there are still a lot of unresolved claims.
"If anyone wants to come in and have a chat, see if we can develop some strategies to help them through any issues they may have and whatever that may be, I'm really happy to do it."
Webb says he has had a lot of experience in these matters from his time as an insurance lawyer.
"The main issue that people are still suffering from is just timelessness and that's a real frustration for everyone and certainly there is a place for looking at what the road blocks might be."
Insurance Advocate Ali Jones is welcoming the sessions.
She says there are a lot of people who are stuck and don't know where to go next, and people who have bought houses which are already damaged.
"I think there will be people asking about the statute of limitations, which is coming upon us very quickly."
Jones says Webb has lived and breathed insurance EQC and insurance claims for the last seven years.
"I don't know anyone really, who has been around these insurances issues for as long as Duncan has, so I think his knowledge and what he can share will be invaluable."
She says anyone with insurance or EQC issues should go along to the sessions, which are on Thursday 8th March at 10am and Friday 16th of March at 2pm.
