Soon a Christchurch brand will be recognised by people from all around the world.

Christchurch-based Hummingbird Coffee will be offered on Air New Zealand flights - after blind taste testing by customers picked their coffee as the best.

General manager Nick Cowper said after nearly 30-years, they how to roast coffee.

"I think the amount of care and attention and human influence in our product is definitely what makes it taste so good."

He said it's an honour to be chosen.

"I'm just so excited that more people are going to be able to taste what so many people...put all their time and energy into."

Hummingbird Coffee was one of the first companies to directly import fair trade organic coffees.
