A charge has been laid over the death of an Alexandra man, after a controlled burn-off last year.
Peter Grayland, 52, as part of a two man team carrying out the controlled burn-off on Northburn Station in Cromwell in September.
WorkSafe New Zealand has laid one charge under the Health and Safety in Employment Act, for failing to take practicable steps to ensure an employee's safety.
A spokesperson refused to identify the party charged, as they may apply for name suppression.
Peter Grayland's body was found near the fire after losing contact with his colleague.
The case is expected to go to the Alexandra District Court next month.
