Introduced wasps don't belong in New Zealand and the Bug Man wants a campaign to get rid of them.

Scientists say they're voracious killers and are devastating native bug populations.

Even native birds fall prey.

Ruud Kleinpaste says species like paper wasps should be on the list of pests to be eradicated under the Predator Free 2050 plan. 

"There are various ways of controlling them or keeping their numbers down. One of the ways is through parasitism by introducing parasites that kill them in the nest", he said.
