While Americans tuck into their Thanksgiving turkeys, those living here are getting over their feast from last night.
Hundreds of thousands of turkeys will be gobbled in the United States today to mark the holiday, however most Americans living in New Zealand celebrated Thanksgiving last night - a tradition they're desperate to maintain.
US Ambassador to New Zealand Mark Gilbert said the holiday has a special place in American's hearts.
"Families will have turkey dinners and get together and reflect on what they're thankful for and the blessings that they've had for the past year."
Gilbert said Americans here make a point to celebrate the holiday.
"It's a time to get family together to reflect on a year that has gone by and to be thankful for all of the wonderful things we've been able to do."
