A charity hopes to deliver 150,000 meals to struggling Kiwis in the community thanks to a fundraiser.
Kiwi Harvest's Goodness Gala fundraiser raised over $75,000.
CEO of Kiwi Harvest Deborah Manning says they rescue over 1.7 million kilograms of food from supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and caterers.
She says it is very humbling when they get feedback on the difference their food is making for families.
"The ones that really pull at our heart strings are those from parents who tell us this is the first time they've been able to put fresh fruit in their children's lunch boxes."
The black tie event took place in Auckland's Sky City convention centre with special guests former All Blacks captain David Kirk, Kieran Reid, Lisa Carrington and Kelli Brett.
