A man has been charged with murdering a 60-year-old Invercargill woman found dead at Lake Hāwea last year. 

Karen Gaylene White, 60, died at her Lake Hāwea property on March 8, 2024.

Eight months after her death, police launched a homicide investigation. 

Today Police said that following a lengthy investigation they had charged a 61-year-old man with murder. 

He was due in the Queenstown District Court today.
