A group's gathered in Auckland's Aotea Square to protest against 1080 drops.
Around 80 people came together for the rally all dressed in black to symbolise poison and to mourn the loss of wildlife they say's been killed by the pest control method.
It's one of 40 anti-1080 protests held around the country today, from as far north as Kerikeri south to Invercargill.
Protester Ryan Johnson says the poison's doing more damage than it is doing good.
"The idea of dropping indiscriminate amounts of poisons throughout an ecological system to try kill one pest... it's insane, it makes absolutely no sense."
