Two people, one in a serious condition, have been taken to Whanganui Hospital after a chemical spill at a dry cleaning business on Victoria Ave.
There are four fire trucks from the Whanganui Fire Brigade and multiple police cars at the scene. Victoria Ave has been closed between Dublin St and Ingestre St.
Hato Hone St John said they were notified at 12.50pm.

“Two patients, one in a serious condition and one in a moderate condition, are being transported to Whanganui Base Hospital.”
Workers outside the La Nuova dry cleaning business did not wish to comment.
The incident was ongoing, a St John spokesperson said.
Whanganui Fire Brigade senior station officer Shane Dudley said firefighters were cordoning off the chemical leak and working to contain the site.
