A truck and trailer carrying a load of squash has crashed near Gisborne.
Police say the accident happened about 3:45am on State Highway two between Te Karaka and Matawai.
Police and other services are on scene and no other vehicles are involved.
A crane is needed to move the truck which is blocking the road, which will be closed for several hours, there are no diversions in place.
