A new study has revealed a surprising amount of people believe cancer can be caused by things such as stress, cleaning products, or plastic bottles - despite no scientific evidence to prove that.
The research comes from the European Journal of Cancer, which surveyed over 1300 adults.
The study shows 35 per cent thought exposure to electromagnetic frequencies, including mobile phones and wi-fi, could cause cancer, and 45 percent were worried about the impact of stress.
The survey also looked into how well people could identify scientifically proven causes of cancer, with 88 per cent knowing the risks smoking poses but only 24 per cent identifying that processed meat increases cancer risk.
