Health authorities are still trying to ascertain how widely a horror pregnancy test was used in New Zealand.

Primodos is believed to have been on our market from 1966 till 1975.

The drug has been linked to abnormalities, birth defects, still births and miscarriages.

Medsafe has been in contact with Bayer, but the drug company hasn't yet been able to clarify how many doses were distributed here.

However it said Bayer has committed to providing whatever usage data it can, if and when it becomes available.

Medsafe said anyone with specific questions about Primodos should talk to their GP.

They can also contact Healthline on 0800 611 116 - or email the Ministry of Health on [email protected]
