There are sighs of frustration from an immunisation expert at an anti-vaccination film that's being shown around the country.
The controversial film Vaxxed screened in Auckland yesterday, and has been booked for other centres.
The film is the work of disgraced former British doctor Andrew Wakefield, whose 1998 research paper argued the MMR vaccine could be linked to autism and bowel disorders.
He was de-registered in 2010 when a medical tribunal found him guilty of dishonesty and said he'd subjected children to unnecessary procedures.
Dr Nikki Turner is the director of New Zealand's Immunisation Advisory Centre and chair of the WHO's committee for measles and rubella elimination.
She said the science is extremely clear - there is no link between the MMR vaccine and autism.

"I think as people forget what measles is, as they do not see the consequences of the disease, they get more focussed on other issues and create myths."
Dr Turner said it's really frustrating.
"This is an issue that a couple of people in the world have been peddling since 1998...they're making an industry out of people's fears."
Dr Turner said people are welcome to see any film they like - but says there's no solid science behind this one.
