There are concerns e-cigarettes are fuelling a nicotine addiction amongst Kiwi teenagers.
A survey by the Health Promotion Agency's found the proportion of teenagers who have used an e-cigarette has tripled in the last two years to 20%.
This has reinforced concerns among health professionals that e-cigarettes may be a gateway for young people to nicotine addiction and smoking.
Subsequently researchers from Otago University and Auckland University are calling for a range of possible rules limiting access to e-cigarettes including restricting their sale to pharmacies.
