Taika Waititi has talked about his rare foray into the world of big budget film making, telling the Daily Mail he wasn't surprised when the $100 million Green Lantern movie was a failure.

The actor and director was cast as Ryan Reynolds' character's best friend after the producers saw his performance in Boy at the Sundance Film Festival.

He says he'd often sit on the set doing nothing and wondering what he was doing in the movie.
