American musician Dan Hicks has died in California.
He led his group the Hot Licks, which he formed in the late 1960s at the height of the psychedelic era.
Dan Hicks' music was totally different.
He called it folk swing, and his influences were as diverse as Bob Wills, the Andrews Sisters, Fats Waller, and Django Reinhardt..
The band released a string of albums over the years and toured extensively.
Dan Hicks died from liver cancer aged 74.
