The Kiwi earned four nods in the annual awards show, founded by the New Musical Express magazine, including for best track and best album.
Her single Green Light faces competition from songs by Brits Charli XCX and Dua Lipa, American rapper Kendrick Lamar and bands Kasabian and the Horrors.

Her 2017 album Melodrama is up against Wolf Alice's Visions Of A Life, Gorillaz's Humanz, the National's Sleep Well Beast and debut albums by rappers Loyle Carner and J Hus.
UK Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn was a surprise nominee in the awards' hero of the year category, with judges saying he has increased youth engagement in politics.
Winners are voted on by the public and announced at the London ceremony on February 14.
