The ribbon has been cut at the opening for a Pop Up Globe theater in Auckland.

The theater has been designed and erected to mark the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare.

It's the first accurate replica since the original was built in London in 1614.

Eight plays are being performed by seven different professional theater companies from now until April.

The Pop Up Globe will then be taken down.
