A brother and sister pop duo from Nelson were left speechless, when Mick Fleetwood showed up at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards.
LISTEN: Georgia Nott from Broods speaks to Mike Hosking
Broods took home four honours last night.
One of those, Album of the Year, was presented to them by Mr Fleetwood Mac himself.
Georgia Nott, one half of Broods, said the award meant all the more coming from such an inspiring songwriter.
"It's a band that makes timeless music, they're giving us an award for an album we wrote, when you think about it it's real fricken' crazy."
Broods cleaned up, also taking home Best Group, Best Pop Album and Radio Airplay Record of the Year.
Georgia Nott said there are no words to describe how happy she and her brother are.
Backstage, Caleb and Georgia Nott revealed the tender side of the musical great.
"I love Fleetwood Mac so much" said Georgia, while Caleb noted how tall Mick Fleetwood was, and said that Mr Fleetwood wiped away his tears of joy with a handkerchief."
Backstage Mick Fleetwood reminisced about attending awards shows when his band was up and coming, and the support the shows create.
He says Fleetwood Mac is still alive and kicking because every member is passionate about the music.
"If we weren't Fleetwood Mac, we'd all do different things, and they'd all be to do with music. So go figure, there is a reason why Elton John still tours, because he loves it."
Country singer Marlon Williams was named Best Male Solo Artist and Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
Lorde's Hunger Games hit 'Yellow Flicker Beat' earned her Single of the Year and an International Achievement Award.
And 80s icons The Exponents were presented with The Legacy Award by Neil Finn.
