TV3 has been forced on the back foot again after a contestant on the show The Bachelor turned out to be a serial fraudster.

33-year-old Danielle Le Gallais has committed a string of fraud-related crimes, including lying to WINZ.

She has a conviction for theft as a servant - which earned her an 18 month prison sentence.

TV3 says it had no idea about her history, and vetting was done by a third party production company.

Last month the network had to apologise after it was revealed X Factor contestant Shae Brider's role in a 2004 manslaughter had been played down on the show.
